Queen’s University Belfast: Queen’s Elms Treehouse, Elms BT9.

With a new educational year in full flow, we have had the privilege of designing new external break out spaces and arrival zone for the Students, Staff and Visitors at the purpose-built Queen Elms Treehouse at #queensuniversitybelfast

Appointed by Queen’s University, as lead designers, we collaborated with our Client and were assisted by The William Johnston Partnership and #Chromalighting. The design closely links with and relates to the adjacent built form which has been fully refurbished in tandem with this project. The external areas provide a holistic educational environment with well-designed break-out spaces, containing carefully chosen street furniture, sculptural feature lighting, surfacing materials and highly scented shrub & ground cover planting. It provides a welcome space in which to relax and socialise. The Main Contractor for the project was #killowencontracts.

McIlwaine Landscape Architects: “We design and create outside spaces to meet the needs, desires and dreams of the people who use them.”
