McIlwaine Landscape Architects are thrilled to see the final result of our landscape design at Belfast International Airport’s new Arrivals and Security Building — now open and looking great.
McIlwaine Landscape Architects designed the external plaza, pathways, and shrub beds, seamlessly integrating the landscape with the adjacent architecture and existing car parks. In collaboration with lead consultants Mott MacDonald, the design features directional paving to guide passengers intuitively along key routes, enhancing wayfinding and overall user experience.
Aluminium trims were incorporated as a subtle nod to the aerospace industry — referencing materials commonly used in aircraft design.
The project was delivered by Piperhill Construction Ltd, and it’s been a pleasure to be part of such a well-coordinated team.
At McIlwaine Landscape Architects, “We design and create outdoor spaces to meet the needs, desires, and dreams of the people who use them.”
